Porcelain Veneers & Tooth Grinding
Bite Correction is Dr. Sam Muslin's forte. Fine porcelain veneers results for a Century City patient
Tooth Grinding
Grinding our teeth at night can cause them to wear down faster than normal. People are living a lot longer than ever before, making night time tooth grinding, or bruxism, a big problem. This is a young patient and his teeth have already shortened considerably, (from many years of clenching and grinding his teeth). He drove from Century City, CA.
Night Guard or Dental Splint
In efforts to reduce the rate of wear on our teeth, a night guard or dental splint can be fabricated to fit over the upper or lower teeth. There are many different styles and types of night guards, but the key point is to make one that the patient can comfortably wear. Comfort is the determining factor when it comes time to routinely wear the night guard. Our dental office fabricates a custom size, shape and thickness that would be the most comfortable for the patient. There are several types of dental splints and one size does not fit all; only a dentist can determine what will work best for you.

Porcelain Veneers
Bonding micro thin porcelain veneers can be a great solution to short teeth. Porcelain veneers can close spaces between teeth. This patient had a diastema, yellow, short and out of proportion teeth. In two visits, two weeks apart, he had a complete dental make-over with porcelain veneers covering all ten of his upper teeth. Century City, California is known for its very fine dentists; however, this patient made the drive to Santa Monica for his dental care.

Porcelain Veneers & Bite Correction
Bite Correction should be a goal with all cosmetic dentistry, but very few dentists have the trained eye and skill to achieve this. Many patients develop a bad bite from grinding down their teeth at night and the dentist needs to look beyond just cosmetic dentistry and treat the overall dental health. This patient had ground his teeth down flat, which affects his dental health and the TMJ. When properly constructed, the porcelain veneers can achieve an aesthetic results that the patient wants and a bite correction that can restore jaw comfort and TMJ balance.
