Non Invasive Porcelain Veneers
For a natural look you need customized veneers and a great dentist. This patient can vouch for it!
No Shots, No Grinding Porcelain Veneers
Porcelain veneers are a thin layer of porcelain bonded over the top of the natural teeth. This patient (of Pacific Palisades, CA) did not need any grinding on her natural Teeth to get porcelain veneers. She had gaps, or diastemas, between her teeth, but the porcelain was able to be custom made to fit her original teeth naturally.
Dental Veneers that are Nationally Advertised
Beware of national advertised porcelain veneers or brand name products as we have seen results that made the patients very unhappy. Patients have high expectations and do not want fake looking veneers or bulky porcelain veneers. We have also seen the color fade on these brands because some plastic is being introduced into the product for easier handling by the dentist. Dr. Muslin uses solid porcelain veneers custom made by his own ceramist and himself because they hold their color better, are natural looking and retain the brightness the patient wants. Sam Muslin, DDS, MAGD personally works on every single porcelain veneer during the construction of the porcelain veneer.

Micro Thin Porcelain Veneers
Thin porcelain veneers can really light up a smile if the dentist has the artistic eye. (For another fine example, look at Amber's Porcelain Veneers and Dr. Muslin's explaining the process on video). There are no substitutes for the ability of the dentist. The porcelain veneer is very thin in this case because the underlying color of the patient’s teeth is white enough to have a thin veneer. As the color of the patient’s tooth gets darker, the porcelain veneer needs to be thicker. The idea that the porcelain veneer must be thicker, and not the bonding material under the veneer, is different from other dentists, who will make a thin veneer but add opacity to the underlying bonding cement in order to make it look whiter. These dental veneers lack translucency that is necessary for a white color and a natural look.

Porcelain Veneers Before and After Photos
The first step of this patient’s treatment involved whitening her teeth with a custom bleaching system. The before and after photos were taken after she had bleached her teeth for three weeks. The key of the dental veneers before and after photos was to show how the porcelain veneers can change the shape of the existing teeth and yet look undetectable form her non-porcelain-veneered lower teeth.
How Long do Dr. Muslin's Porcelain Veneers Last?
Each dental veneer is personally shaped and designed by Dr. Muslin and is made of solid feldspathic, hand-made porcelain, fired at 1,790 degrees. These veneers have been in the patient's mouth for nearly 10 years. No-Grinding, Micro-Thin, Porcelain Veneers have been used for over 22 years in Dr. Muslin's dental practice. They will wear like natural teeth, do not fall off, look natural, do not fade and the patient can eat and drink normally.
Empress Porcelain Veneers
Empress Porcelain Veneers are a pressed veneer and generally are thicker. To get a natural look, the veneers need to have considerable grinding down of the natural teeth. Additionally, the empress porcelain veneers have to be cut back and hand fired new porcelain to give a natural color and look. Sometimes, as a short cut, the surface of the Empress Veneer is stained instead of being cut back and re fired in the porcelain oven. The results can be less than ideal when the surface stain wears off. Empress Porcelain Veneers are very beautiful and natural looking if all of the steps are correctly implemented.
For those patients interested in consulting with Dr. Sam Muslin, (who is a Master of the Academy of General Dentistry) the time spent will be very valuable to the patient.
